The custom air handling unit specialist, right down to the electrical panel

Since 1985, Depair has designed and built custom air handling units in Sierre, Switzerland. A unit does not stop at its casing: its controls and its electrical panel are engineered, built and tested under the same roof. One point of contact, from design to remote management.

A unit designed for its plant room and its use

Every unit starts from a precise need: airflow, available space, access to the plant room, target air quality. Our engineering office sizes the unit, models it in 3D and builds it in our workshops, from sheet metal to final assembly.

  • VS-SP: custom units from 500 to 40,000 m³/h;
  • VS-MEG: 24 models from 500 to 3,200 m³/h, with integrated Climatix controls;
  • VS-ECO: 6 compact models;
  • delivery in partly assembled modules when access to the plant room requires it.

Controls designed together with the unit

Controls are not an afterthought: they are engineered at the same time as the unit, by the same team. Our AHUs are delivered with their Climatix controls and our ModIO-P boxes, programmed and configured for the installation.

  • twenty-four control functions: temperatures, airflow, air quality, frost protection, heat recovery;
  • direct integration into the building’s BMS: BACnet, Modbus, KBOB naming;
  • for retrofits, the EC-SWAP and EC-MULTI modules drive EC fans without overhauling the installation.

Electrical panels built in-house

The electrical panel is what ties everything together: power supply, protection devices, controller, sensors, dampers and fans. At Depair, it is built entirely in-house.

  • Design and drawings: wiring diagrams, bill of materials, terminal and cable labelling, handed over with the project file;
  • Built to SN EN 61439, from the choice of protection devices to the wiring;
  • Workshop testing: routine tests and functional check before delivery, recorded in a test report;
  • Pre-wired on the AHU: the panel is mounted and connected on the unit in the factory, which cuts on-site connection work accordingly.

Our technicians commission the installation within 10 working days. After that, Depair Connect provides 24/7 remote monitoring: alarms, trends and adjustments, without unnecessary site visits.
